Our Mission & Purpose:

Empowering Education in Heartland & Crandall

Founded in 2004 as the Kingsborough Education Foundation, Inc., we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to enhancing educational opportunities for students within the Heartland and Crandall Independent School Districts (CISD). In 2021, we rebranded as the Heartland Education Foundation to reflect our growing commitment to the communities of Heartland and Crandall, Texas. Our mission is to foster innovation, academic excellence, and holistic development in students, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to thrive in and out of the classroom.


At the Heartland Education Foundation, our mission is simple yet powerful: to elevate educational possibilities for students within the Heartland and Crandall communities. Through targeted programs and strategic funding, we aim to empower students to reach their full potential. We are deeply committed to:

  • Academic Excellence: Providing students with resources to excel in core subjects like math, reading, and science.
  • Experiential & Social-Emotional Learning: Offering opportunities that go beyond textbooks to engage students and develop life skills.
  • Fostering Creativity: Encouraging creativity and critical thinking, preparing students for the challenges of the future.
  • Inclusive Environment: Ensuring all students, regardless of background, have access to transformative learning experiences.

We firmly believe that knowledge is transformative, and our foundation’s efforts are driven by this principle. By strengthening community connections, we work to enrich the lives of our students, their families, and our entire community.

How We Fund Our Mission:

Real Estate Transactions in Heartland

The Heartland Education Foundation is uniquely funded through real estate transactions within the Heartland community. Every time a property is bought or sold in the area, a portion of the transaction contributes to our foundation, directly benefiting the schools and students in the Heartland and Crandall ISDs. This innovative funding model enables us to provide much-needed support to educational programs that might not otherwise be possible through traditional school budgets.


Funding Highlights

Our foundation has been able to fund a wide range of initiatives that make a meaningful difference in students’ lives. Some of our recent and ongoing programs include:

  • Enhanced Academic Programs: We fund specialized programs in reading, math, and science to excite students about learning and encourage academic excellence.
  • Virtual Reality Classrooms: Through cutting-edge technology, students can experience hands-on learning without leaving the classroom, fostering engagement and a global perspective.
  • Experiential Learning: Field trips, summer camps, and special events that allow students to learn outside of the classroom and gain real-world experiences.
  • Social and Emotional Support: Providing much-needed support programs for students and families in the Heartland community who are facing challenges.
  • Band Equipment: Supplying all-new band instruments for the new middle school, ensuring that every student has access to high-quality music education.
  • School Infrastructure: Providing buses, safety equipment, and other critical resources to ensure that students in Heartland and Crandall schools can get to school safely and efficiently.

The Heartland Education Foundation was established with one clear goal in mind: to create an educational environment where every child can succeed. By supporting Heartland and Crandall ISDs with vital resources, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future for our students. From innovative classroom tools to social-emotional support programs, every dollar raised goes toward supporting student achievement in the Heartland and Crandall communities.
